God is more interested in our becoming instead of our doing. Interestingly, it is in our doing that we experience becoming. The two go together like ham and cheese or peanut butter and jelly. We, however, can be so caught up with doing that we totally ignore who we ought to become.
Jesus said it this way, “But as many as received Him, to them gave He power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on His name… John 1:12”. The first step to “become” is to receive Him and to believe on His name. God, then, is interested in you and me becoming sons. And, sons “do” the bidding of the Father.
